I did think it was a very simplified way of poking at breaking gender roles. My guess is the book is intended for very young children and is a subtle way of saying "be yourself, whatever that may be". Girls and boys don't have to be separated by gender and they don't have to do certain things because that's the "norm". It's okay to explore, at any age :) a group of friends, horace dolores and morris. horace and morris are boys and they go into a boys club house without dorris because she is a girl. dolores makes her own girl club and makes friends with different girl mice. they decide to ask the boys to go hiking and then they all became friends again. 1 book Horace, Morris and Dolores are pals. The three mice do everything together until one day Horace and Morris decide to form a boys-only club. Dolores decides to join an all-girls club to assuage her loneliness but is soon bored by the cheesy arts and crafts. When the other girls hate her suggestion to go exploring, Dolores quits the club; a new friend Chloris joins her. Together they invite the boys to go with them buy only Horace, Morris and a new guy named Boris want to join them. Off they go all new friends to start their own club. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

This book is about three friends (two boys and one girl) who end up going to separate clubhouses one day because one doesn't allow girls and the other doesn't allow boys. They meet new friends but miss playing with each other. Eventually, they all get bored and ditch the clubhouses to build their own with new friends
I love this book for a few reasons: it was one of my favorites as a child, it teaches about friendship, and it teaches about going against what everyone else wants to do sometimes.
