Its publication date is too late, but I certainly remember the atmosphere of this book. I always liked to see kids managing on their own. The central character was intelligent, thoughtful and resourceful. Sad ending, but hopeful, too. I think this would still appeal to modern young people. I would recommend it. "Ann soon realizes there may be worse things than being the last person on Earth." Yah. Does she ever!!! Unfortunately, I can't put any comments here because it would be totally spoilers all the way. All I can say is that, even though I had already watched the Margot Robbie movie, the book had me on the edge of my seat the entire way and kept my mind off the early stages of COVID Shot #2 hell. I can also say that I love that this book is written so that we are reading pages of Ann's diary. Great book. Going on my Favorites shelf. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

An interesting little thriller, although the main character’s choices sometimes irked me, and that says, probably, a lot more about me than about the book; she yielded way too much ground to the dangerous and violent macho bullshit of Radiation Suit Man. So while it’s a good read in most respects, I was too frustrated by her actions and the resolution to love it. ( )
