I thought some of the recipes looked really good, and I copied those down. However, all of the recipes are meant to be gluten-free (I didn't see that in the title until after I'd borrowed it). I LIKE my gluten, so instead of all these different types of flour they list in each recipe, I wrote down to use regular (read: all-purpose) flour.
Some of the ideas for doughnuts were really out there, and for some of them, that was a good thing. But I decided to pass, completely, on the savory doughnut recipes. I'm also not a big fan of "spice" cakes or doughnuts (e.g. pumpkin spice, chai spice, etc.) and since I'm hoping to make these to share with my family, those were definitely not recipes I'd be using.
Still, it's fun to see some cool new ideas, and I can't wait to try the more basic recipes with my new doughnut mold pan! ( )
