When an Enderman comes to town, two friends are faced with an interesting trade-off New friends Alex and Steve have had their share of adventure, but they are in for another big surprise when things start mysteriously disappearing (only to be replaced with others!). Compassionate Steve is worried about the villagers and has convinced stubborn but good-hearted Alex to join him in his efforts to improve the construction of buildings. All seems to be going well when the crowned jewel of the village church is stolen. An emerald has gone missing! Bothered by the recent string of disappearances, Steve posits that there is an Enderman lurking in the shadows. Alex has never seen an Enderman in real life, but Steve cautions that they can be extremely dangerous - before suddenly disappearing. Is the mysterious stranger really an Enderman? If so, what do they want, and how will Alex stop them? Find the answers when you read Enderman! Enderman is a delightful tale of adventure and friendship with pictures sure to capture the attention of your child, right in time for the holidays! This novel based on the Minecraft character Alex is set after Steve has become a local hero in Alex's town. Steve want Alex to help him fix up a local village of mumbling, frowning, unpleasant looking-people. Alex has a problem with the villagers and does not want to help them since she thinks they are mean. Can Steve teach Alex to think about others before herself and will he teach her to not judge others by what she sees before getting to know them. And is there such thing as a baby villager? This book surprised me. After reading this book I wanted to read more of the Minecraft books. Robert G. ( )

My 10 and 12 year old children read this book and really enjoyed it. The first thing I was asked when they finished the book was "Are there any more Minecraft Alex books?".

"They were awesome though parts of it weren't entirely realistic to Minecraft. It was really cool, I hope there are more!" - 10 yr old daughter

"They were awesome. You'd probably really like them if you like the Diary of a Minecraft Zombie books. Probably also if you like the Diary of a Minecraft Steve or Zombie Steve. I can't wait for more!" - 12 yr old son ( )

#Minecraft fans will love this book, but also those who love #diaryofawimpykid books. Alex recites all the adventures in a dear diary format. Learning how to collect different items to produce other items is an essential part of adventure, such as wood to make a house, ore to make a sword and just trying to survive. Zombies and other obstacles will get in the way, finding the right items to use will be the challenge. Follow along with Alex and learn all about different elements needed to process collection items into others. @SteveMC ( )

Diary of a Minecraft Alex: Book 2 by MC Steve is a juvenile fiction novel based on the female character, Alex, in Minecraft. The novel is written as if Alex were writing in a diary. Many of the details about harvesting and building structures are straight from the video game. Since this novel is technically for children I asked my son to read it with me and give me his honest opinion. He is a gamer and as soon as I said Minecraft he was excited to try this book. My son describes this book as being the perfect length for him. He likes to read, but is very particular about the type of book he reads. He likes the fact that there are tips for playing the game written into the story (like being able to tame a pig with a carrot on a fishing pole). I have played the game with him many times, so I'm pretty familiar with terminology used throughout the book. I really enjoyed reading it even though I'm not the target audience for the book. If I had to pick one thing I didn't like, it would be the use of the word stupid. This may not be a big issue for some parents, or a huge one for others. As an assistant librarian for a small community library, I think this is a very promising series that has potential to be really popular in the 7-12 age range. Definitely recommended for Minecraft fans! ( )
