The idea is to teach children about the importance of the brain and how it works in the body, but I'm not sure if it would become a household favorite. ( ) I picked this up because I am a fan of the Heart and Brain comic series, and naturally I found much to like about this book. But I think I liked The Sun is Kind of a Big Deal better; this may be because Sun was covering different topics from the usual cartoons, so it felt newer to me. I do hope there will be one about the body in general because I need another book with Gallbladder in it! He is so cute. This book is perfect for intermediate readers! It is highly engaging through the use of body parts personified in the illustrations. The text explains how the body functions while the images supplement through comedic dialogue and actions. The back of the book also includes information on animals' brains and definitions of key terms. Students who are interested in body anatomy or health will really enjoy this story! It could also be used as a teaching tool to help students understand how their brain affects the rest of their body. This is a very unique book that explores the brain in a fun and kid-friendly way. The main character is the brain and it goes through different parts of and systems of the human body. It tells very informative things about the way the body and brain works and it is a great tool for teaching and introducing children to the wonders of the human body. I would use this in my classroom to read outloud and have it for a health and science unit. It's a great resource to have in the classroom library as it helps break down big concepts and vocabulary words that we might not know how to break it down. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
