I understand why these are of literary value, but I really didn't care much for them. ( ) In this book of magical realism a series of tall tales take us through adventures that are akin to L Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz. A three legged man dances on rooftops. A cat visits a rabbit kingdom and comes home to whisper her story to her owner. All told in beautiful, lyrical poetry. I love this book. I will admit it's a deep dive from my childhood, but it had a huge influence on me. These are beautiful tales set in a strange version of the Mid-West. The writing is lovely and the illustrations amazing. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
