Ok read, nothing to spicy but some good scenes and interesting enough to keep you en ( )Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. Not really what I expected. I thought it would be a bit spicier. I was not a fan of Jim’s character and the uneducated way he spoke. Hated the fact that he called Juliet miss teacher lady. It was repetitive! I couldn’t root for their relationship. Overall it entertained me but it wasn’t my favorite. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. This book needed a lot more depth to make it enjoyable. The plot felt very rushed and the characters were not well-developed. I enjoyed how quotes from Shakespeare were woven into the story but it was used too often to help us know the characters. The secondary plot with the former student did not add anything to the story and was confusing at times. The reader needed more backstory about what was going on - it felt like there had been a book before this one that had that story in it. As the class starts, Jim Sanders seems to need a lot of attention not just from the teacher, Juliet West, but also from fellow classmates. She’s noticeably older than him and IMO the age difference didn’t have to be as much as it was. It made the relationship a bit stretched. I felt his two sons had more common sense and maturity than Jim did. Adding in the quotes from Shakespeare lifted up the story line to look at “love” in the 1400’s versus current day but it became repetitive after a while. It did, however, lift up the rating a bit. He chases, she retreats, she chases then retreats. The minor conflict of another former student didn’t really add much depth. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Jim Sanders is looking for babes & cheap thrills until his sons suggest a college class to get him a little culture. Juliet West teaches literature and raising expectations. He wants to be the Romeo to her Juliet but can they overcome their age and background differences and follow the true course of love? Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
