I liked this book because it had a lot of poetry aspects to it. For instance, the story had alliteration and onomatopoeia in it. Another reason I liked this book was because it showed children having fun and being outside during the summer. This made the characters very relatable to the audience that is reading this book. It shows the children reading this book that they can do fun activities outside. The illustrations portrayed the children having a lot of fun. There were a lot of bright colors and emotions in the children’s faces. My favorite part of the book was the language of it. The author used onomatopoeia in it such as “We chomped, and slurped and gulped and burped”. The author also used alliteration when the book said, “You pepper Pete! I’ll splatter Sue!” The author was also very descriptive with the language in the story. An example is “Watching a bug crawl across the floor.” The audience can picture this in their heads. This big idea of the story is to show students that they can do fun activities with the little things they are given. They don’t have to be sitting around all day when they are bored. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
