In this Alyssa Day book, the main couple of vampires that are dealing with a villainous group as well as their feelings for each other. The vampiric couple are attracted to each other, but their pasts are keeping them from pursuing a romantic relationship. They thought that they can just have sexual relations with each other, but deeper feelings appear. Now they must tackle what their relationship should be as they faced against the villains that want to control the city of Savannah.

This is the conclusive book for the VAMPIRE MOTORCYCLE CLUB series. This was a nice end to this paranormal romantic series that should be read in order as there is a series premise in all the books that had a satisfying ending in this story. I liked the main couple, but I really enjoyed reading about the secondary characters, especially the couples from the previous books in the series. It would have been nice to have a bit more details in certain areas of the story, but this book is still an enjoyable read. Overall, an entertaining series from an author that I look forward to reading more works in the future.

Redemption’s Edge by Alyssa Day
Vampire Motorcycle Club series #3. Conclusion. Paranormal romance. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Book #1: Bane’s Choice
Book #2: Hunter’s Hope

Meara Delacourt is a powerful 300 year old vampire, underestimated by her enemies. She keeps careful control of her emotions because she knows losing it can mean the death of thousands.
Edge was a scientist with an orderly mind before he was turned into a vampire. He still doesn’t let emotion in when science can answer the question. He was used in a cruel experiment by the Chamber, the result of which means his head will literally explode if he lets love into his life. Good thing he can control his feelings.
Their club of friends are close and all have agreed they must eliminate the threat they all face in the Chamber. It’s a sinister organization of ancient warlocks that have set their plans on control of Savannah. Dane, Edge and Meara help to lead the fight against their potential elimination.

Large cast as all characters from prior books are here to fight the Chamber.
Edge has a dark and heartbroken history so won’t let Meara into his heart. He can’t do it again though his lust for her is unending.
There is a lot of angst in the story, but there is also lots of love. The prior couples provide a good example of what love can do for them but Edge and Meara are stubborn. There is a lot of steamy chemistry between these two as they can’t keep their minds off the other.
The whole goal is an ultimate battle to get rid of the Chamber and Neville, so even during the volleyball games and other entertainment, there is a darkness over the story.
There is a lot of world building both in the beginning of the story and throughout the story.
I enjoyed the tension, the romance, and the fight for good, as well as having all the full cast of the series involved, but I think the story was a lot longer than it needed to be.
A great wrap up conclusion.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

Holidaze 2019 Day 1 -

Having never read Day before, or the Atlantis series this is related to, I can happily report you don't need to have prior knowledge.

Dare and Lyric are a fairly unlikely pair, but they work together. Lyric grounds Dare, reminds him what's important and worth fighting for. Dare gives Lyric the strength and space to grow beyond her routines.

Some of it I side-eyed; the first scene with Lyric and the amethyst felt out of place in a way I can't put my finger on. And Dare's sudden EUREKA LYRIC IS THE ANSWER also felt a bit out of the ordinary.

And this isn't very Christmas-y insofar as I'm used to with holiday romances.

Overall though I enjoyed this story and feel it was a good start to my holiday reading.

This is the first book I read by this author and while the plot was good, in my honest opinion, the book itself was not :(
The switch in POV was nice and pretty unique, but it got a bit too much, especially when you got to the steamy scenes. It just made it overly long and weird, and I must admit I skipped much of those scenes (can’t believe I’m saying this!).

I know as this is a first in the series, the author would want to paint a picture of their world, slowly introduce everyone, … But the character development was just about decent. There wasn't any depth to the characters. I would have thought Riley would have needed a longer time to adjust and come to terms with what was happening, but well, she leaped pretty much straight into the unknown :)
Conlan was also pretty blasé about what their relationship would mean to the Atlanteans and while you know what happened in his recent past, we don't really know anything about him (or anyone else for that matter).
I think of all the characters in this book, I like Alaric and Ven the most :D One is dark, broody and powerful as hell and the other is a killing machine with a fun and playful side.

Pacing and flow were good, though as earlier stated, the switching of POV was detrimental to the overall flow and feel of the story.

The book itself was well written with only a small error here and there, nothing that bothered me while reading. And yes, there is sex described in this book (if that is important to you).

All in all, I’m pretty sad it didn't turn out as good as I had hoped it would be, so I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series or not.

Evil Eye is closer to novella length. However, this cozy, paranormal mystery has everything going for it, including a pirate and treasure. I love the Southern setting and the humor. The ongoing romance has the right amount of tension. And I love this idea, "Food you eat while driving doesn’t count, everybody knows this." That made me laugh right out loud.

This is the third in a series. While it isn't strictly necessary to read the earlier books, it does enhance the plot line. The series is just fun; I would suggest starting at the beginning and reading the series. I think you'll enjoy it if you like cozy and paranormal mysteries.

Boring. Had to fight to keep awake long enough to finish it.
Sorry, but this one is a big 'No' for me.

No real action, just a lot of talking and blah, blah, blah.

Could have been great, but ended up being an epic fail.

On top of numerous words about nothing, there are editing errors and sentence structure problems.
The editing errors are not all that bad.
The sentence structure problems make it difficult to know who is talking at any given time.
They were annoying.

So this goes into the reject pile.

Salvaged - Meljean Brook
My god, I adore this series. Every single installment. There was some good angst and misunderstanding, and I really liked both Thom and Georgie. All of Brooks' story-lines are so unique and creative, I never know what to expect. And the sex was hot! I can't wait for the next book!!! (4 stars)

I'll come back to Alyssa Day's story after I read the first book in the series; same with Lucy Monroe's contribution. The Breed series lost my interest a while ago.

Urban Fantasy meet Cozy Mystery. May you live long and prosper!

The lead in this series is Tess Callahan. In some ways, she's like the best friend you wish you had. She thinks things that you wish you had the nerve to say in such a sassy way. I mean things like he's "so hot that butter probably melted when he walked by the dairy case in the grocery store." You just know you need to fan yourself when someone like that walks by.

The love interest/muscle/shapechanger is Jack Shepherd. Talk about your ultimate cat fantasy; this tiger is sexy yet still comfortable as an overgrown, protective tiger housecat can be.

The book is short, so it is perfect for a summer read or when you are behind on your yearly "read X books in a year" list. It is a satisfying mystery, too, as the author plays fair with the solution.

The book is recommended for folks who enjoy cat mysteries or paranormal mysteries or fantasies with a hint of mystery. Myself, I've already gotten the next book in the series.

Dead Eye describes itself as a paranormal mystery. To me, it is more of paranormal fiction with a hefty dose of romance combined with a cozy mystery. The main characters are interesting to me and likable. The author played fair with the characters finding out important facts at the same time as the reader. My favorite quotation (at least for today) is "I can’t help it. Generations of southern women are dancing around in my DNA." I so get that!

Of course, I have bought the next book in the series. I'd suggest this for those who enjoy their paranormal fiction with a dose of romance and mystery.

I've had this book for years and I've re-read it a few times, but not since I started tracking my reading.

A big part of this book is precisely what you'd imagine it is from the title and the cover: there's a lot of humour, there's a little bit of stereo-typical blonde stuff, there's a strong over-tone of chick-lit and an alpha-male former-SEAL P.I. providing the romance (just a bit of it).

What you don't get from the title and cover is the much stronger, meatier plot line than the average cozy mystery normally provides. This isn't a typical murder mystery plot - people are killed but figuring out who killed them isn't the focus. There's an ever-so-slight hint of Erin Brockovich here, except it's a pharmaceutical company and bad insulin that's the centre of major legal action that nobody but her client wants her involved in. The author was (is?) a practicing attorney so the details are strong, accurate but easy to read and they added additional interest for me as I read.

I'd have loved reading about more of December Vaughn's legal adventures, but sadly this is the only book the author wrote about her. I almost gave it 4.5 stars, but I think there might be a couple of small continuity/editing errors and sometimes the jokes fall flat. The first couple of chapters start off a bit rough too, so I'll stick with 4 stars, but I'd recommend this to anyone who likes mysteries or chick-lit and would enjoy the much stronger plot.

Hunter's Hope is action-packed and a lot of fun. I loved that Alice was a ghost whisperer. Ghosts add a layer of spookiness to a story that I love. Alice's ability to talk to animals was also a cute quirk and it made her character very appealing and likeable. Charlie, the minor demon, was a surprisingly cute addition to her menagerie.
Alice and Hunter have an insta-love/lust thing going on but, the story was so fast-paced that the speed of their relationship worked in the overall scheme of things.
Very little in this story has anything to do with a motorcycle club and I always find it a bit odd that this series is branded as a motorcycle club series.
Overall, it is a lighthearted and fun read that entertained me. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

4/5 stars!

When the hero met the heroine, they met under different circumstances. The heroine fascinated the hero, who became a vampire, as she told him she's a ghost whisperer. Their interactions brought danger to the heroine, as the hero is being watched by the villains that has appeared in the first novel of this series. Neither thought that her past and his present are interconnected, but as danger looms over both, the two became closer.

This is the second book in the Vampire Motorcycle Club series. I really enjoyed reading this book about a cinnamon roll beta hero and the traumatized heroine survivor who connected with each other in many ways. I enjoyed the secondary characters that surrounded the couple. I didn't like a certain aspect of the vampirism but it didn't detract my enjoyment of reading the book. This book also needed some more details that is a personal preference of mine. Overall, a really solid addition to the series and looking forward to reading more Alyssa Day books in the future.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

I've only read "Hunter Kiss" by Marjorie M. Liu in order to read the other books in the series.
I liked it but I think that the fight with the Demon Queen was resolved a little too easily.

4.5 of 5 stars

Bane has been a vampire for over three hundred years. From an orphaned stable boy, he's now one of the most powerful vampires. He hides his group of vampires in plain sight with his Vampire Motorcycle Club. He cares only for protecting his family and territory from the warlocks trying to take over.

Dr. Ryan Sinclair believes she is ordinary and unimportant, which is far from the truth. She doesn't hesitate to stand up for what she wants and believes in and will not cower from vampires or anyone else. She's can't be controlled by the vampires and they soon discover she's more than a mere human.

Bane and Ryan meet when he goes to the hospital to save a friend. He's felt nothing for centuries until he meets her and suddenly everything is coming alive again for him, he can't let her go.
Ryan knows she should be afraid and running from these vampires but between her curiosity about vampires and her attraction to Bane she chooses to stay, free herself from boring, reliable Ryan.

It takes talent to make instant connection romance work and Alyssa Day nails it in this new paranormal romance. She brings in a little of everything with vampires, werewolves, demon and angel archetypes, interesting characters, battling good and evil, and hinting that there are even more paranormals out there to discover as this series progresses.

My only complaint is that I thought that the motorcycle club names were unimaginative and boring given how creative the rest of the book was, but don't let that deter you. This book has fun, witty banter, action, and steamy romance.

I received a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. If you like my reviews I hope you will follow my blog. https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/

Thank you, Alyssa Day! This is the sexy vampire fantasy novel I’ve been missing. I have stopped reading some well known vampire series because I just couldn’t take the alpha never learning to give a little with his true love or there being so much sex and barely any story. Day has found the perfect balance of an alpha not locking his love up so no one hurts them (although he wants to) and lots of great storylines to go with the steamy scenes.

And to go along with the great character development, Day actually incorporates a fantasy world that incorporates more than just vampires and/or werewolves. This opens up so many potential storylines and love matches that I am excited to see what Day has in store for us. The action scenes were excellent and I love that Day included two human caretakers who may be younger than the vampires, but help to keep them stable, and are still wonderfully racy for an older couple.

The reader may be dropped into the middle of the action without one hundred pages of back story before, but I think Day is able to pull it off. She works the back story in as the book progresses, and leaves some of the characters with a bit of mystery about them at the end. But if you’ve read any romance you should be able to see the pairings that will be coming and have an inkling of their dramatic/tragic backstory.

I’m going to start online stalking (but in a nice way) Day so I can find out when the next VMC book is coming. And since this is the first book I’ve read by her, I’m intrigued to read some more of her stories.

Believe the Unbelievable
Alyssa Day builds an interesting world of supernatural creatures and magic. When warlocks start settling in to Savannah Georgia, Bane and his Vampire Motorcycle Club strike back. Bane is cold, dangerous, and full of rage. Ready to hunt down and kill any invaders in his territory. The Chamber is a cult of blood magic, and more dangerous than even Bane can handle. So, right from the beginning there is quite a bit of blood, violence, and swearing. Despite Bane’s refusal to recognize his own feelings, he is loyal and protective of his club. Meara, Luke, Edge, Evans, Mr. Cassidy, and Mrs. Cassidy, are all important to him. But it takes the spunky and stubborn Dr. Ryan St. Cloud, to heal his heart. Ryan is a modern feminist, who is both ordinary and gorgeous, with no filter. Their relationship is a bit questionable at the beginning, as Ryan is drunk and believes she is hallucinating, where Bane is possessive. Though, why should consent ever be questionable in a romance, even after genuine apologies? Ryan handles it all surprisingly well, as her job as a doctor is her main concern. They eventually build a relationship on passion, and their protective natures. Growing a lot as characters, learning to value themselves and each other. Bane’s Choice is a steamy, action packed, contemporary paranormal romance.

Eye of Danger by Alyssa Day

4th book/novella in the Tiger Eye paranormal mystery series. Best read as part of the series.
In this book, Tess must deal with her father coming back into her life after 20 something years. The good news? BBQ? The bad news is that he brought the mob with him to town.

The series continues with a unique town of oddities and friends that love bad puns. How many butt jokes can there be when Dave gets shot jumping out his window?
It seemed odd that a dinner invite turned into a huge BBQ more than once with Tess but maybe that was just my reading 4 and 5 back to back.

Light hearted mystery while still dealing with the “qualified” deaths of mobsters. Justified?
Anyway, cute and easy to read. A small lead into a romance between Jack and Tess which makes their relationship progress a bit further than it had in the past.

Christmas in Atlantis by Alyssa Day

Prequel to the Poseidon’s Warrior series which is a spin of the Warriors of Poseidon series.
Fantasy paranormal romance novella.
Can be read without reading any of the books in either series although key characters from the first series make brief appearances. Just know that Atlantis has risen from its thousands of years hidden underwater and is interacting with today’s world bringing magic and the mythical to life.

Dare is an Atlantian Pirate. He’s fallen in love with Lyric, a painter in St Augustine, Florida. As a pirate, he doesn’t think he’s worthy of her love.
Lyric has her own art gallery and is not limited by her blindness. She has fallen in love with Dare but knows he is meant for the sea.
They should talk to each other! Fortunately they do resolve their initial reserve and deepen their relationship.

I enjoyed their self made romance title: The Painter and the Wicked Pirate. The wicked part was added as jest from their hot love scene. Lyric didn’t want her romance PG rated. Yep, they made it to an R as they commit to each other.

Musical, mystical, and romantic.
