Liked the Movie Better

themulhern: I'm only talking about the 1970s TV show. The more recent movie wasn't so great, but the TV show has a whole lot more heartbreak.

cej1027: I really liked both, but I just liked the movie a little more...maybe because I saw it first or maybe because the animals don't talk in the book. That's what I remember standing out the most.

bluepiano: 'Nosferatu' was much more striking than the book.

bluepiano: Not altogether sure why, unless Henry James, but 'The Heiress' is for me more memorable than the book.

bluepiano: (Although if the book were Graham Rawle's edition, book v film would be a tie. If it were Rawle's version v a kosher film one (i.e. no Bert Lahr) the film would probably win again.)

bluepiano: I enjoyed both back in the day but if I had to choose now between sitting through the film or ploughing through the book I'd choose the first without hesitation.
