Ah now Jim53 - this is an interesting point - not on my version. If it was written by a US author (according to that veritable font of questionable information Wikipaedia) it might have a period but in this instance it is a UK author - so no. Does that help?

I admire your ability to read in many languages. I can manage a bit in French (as long as it's not too complex or idiomatic), but I find I'm losing the skill rapidly (must practice more).
