So far I'm way behind the pace I was at the same time last year. I have to pick up the pace if I hope to get back on track for my 2010 reading pace.

1. Lily's Ghosts by Laura Ruby
2. Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King
3. The Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice
4. The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger by Stephen King
5. Ful Dark, No Stars by Stephen King

Oh, I recently read Full Dark, No Stars. I'd never read any stephen king before, he's got quite an imagination! How did you like it compared to his others?

The Gunslinger is one of my favorite stories of all time. Do you think you'll read any more of the Dark Tower series?

#3 Yea, I plan on trying to read all seven volumes of The Dark Tower Series.
I haven't started reading The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three yet, but I will as soon as I finish some of the other books I'm still reading at the moment.

#2 I felt from the very beginning it was very dark but then again he writes about very dark stuff like Good vs. Evil, Monsters, what ordinary people do when they're put in extraordinary situations and they wind up doing things they never thought they could do before, how people face up to their own fears, etc. I enoyed reading the book and probably would re-read it sometime in the future.

15. Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson
16. The Demeter Flower by Rochellle Singer
17. Deenie by Judy Blume
18. Living Dead In Dallas by Charlaine Harris
19. Native Tongue by Suzette Haden Elgin

As of June I was 11 books off of my record setting pace of 30 books read in the first half of the year. As of right now I don't know how many books I'll wind up reading in 2011 but I doubt if it'll be anywhere near 52 books.

21. Skinwalker by Faith Hunter
22. An Unauthorized Examination of the Boy Who Lived The Psychology of Harry Potter
Edited by Neil Mulholland
23. Magic in the Shadows by Devon Monk
24. The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin

I'm probably gonna finish the year reading 25 or26 books. If I am lucky enough to finish the year read with 26 books it will have been a drop off of reading by exactly 50% since I read 52 books in 2010. At least I would've finished the goal of this group and read at least 25 books in 2011 if I don't wind up with 26 or more books read between now and the end of the year. Hopefully, I'll start off 2012 at a great pace and be able to not only break but also shatter my 2010 Personal Record of 52 Books Read in a single year. As far as 2011 goes with the number of Books Read it was better than a lot of my previous years when I was averaging only 10 or fewer books readf or an entire year. But then again it wasn't as many as a few of the other years when I'd read more than 25 or 26 Books in previous years.

Thanks fundevogel. Yea, I did it and met my book challenge for this group. I might even wind
up with 26 or 27 books read for this year. It was such a relief to me to finally finish m y 25th
book of the year. I just started off 2011 with a very slow pace and I wasn't able to catch up
the rest of the year. I didn't finish Whispering to Witches by Anna Dale until Christmas evening.
Though I failed to beat my previous record of 52 books read last year. I'm hoping that 2012 will
really be a great year of reading for me. If I'm able to start of 2012 with the same pace or
maybe even better than the one I started 2010 off with 2012 will be a truly great reading
year for me.
