What 1001 books are you reading as we transition from "spooky season" to the holiday season?

After finishing Clarissa, or, The History of a Young Lady and Julie, or the New Eloise, I really need to read some novellas. Most likely King Lear of the Steppes, Conversations in Siciliy, Whatever, or The Life of Insects.

Just started Mrs Arris Goes to Paris because I needed short and not heavy!

I've started Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood, also a shorter one. It will probably take me a while to finish though since I am trying to read it on Kindle rather than listen to the audio.

I'm reading Flaubert's Parrot by Julian Barnes. I'm supposedly still reading Clarissa, but I'm way behind.

I finished Sentimental Education which I sincerely disliked but tried hard to appreciate, and am now starting on The Information for the group read. I'm also listening to Light in August on audio. I realize it is not on the list. Is it possible that only ONE book by Faulkner is on the 2008 version of The List? That is truly an insult to American Literature.
Just to rant on a bit, they still have three books by the unbearably pretentious Michel Houllebecq. The one book I read by him was one of the worst I've ever been subjected to, on or off the list. And four by (American) Don DeLillo, who is nowhere near the stature of Faulkner.

I finished Goodbye to Berlin (gave up on trying to read the Kindle and listened to it). I also finished Metamorphoses by Ovid which I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying this.
I have started The Information for the group read. Not very far in yet but am thinking this might end up being another Amis DNF for me. I tried reading Money last year and did not enjoy it at all.

After flying through Mrs Arris, I picked up Cecilia. This will last me until the end of the year, at least.
