It is a very inspiring book about a young boy with facial deformities. Its about friendship and how to always spread kindness and love even when you are not receiving it. I would have this book in my future classroom if i teach the appropriate age. Wonder is a heartwarming novel that tells the story of August Pullman, a fifth-grade boy with a facial deformity. August, also known as Auggie, embarks on his first year of public school after being homeschooled for years. As he navigates the challenges of fitting in and facing bullies, Auggie teaches those around him about kindness, empathy, and the true meaning of friendship. In the classroom, Wonder can be used to foster discussions about empathy, diversity, and the importance of standing up to bullying. Teachers can guide students in exploring the perspectives of different characters and discussing how their actions and words affect others. "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio is a special book that tells the story of a boy named August who looks different from other kids because of his face. It's about how he deals with going to a new school and making friends. The book talks a lot about being nice to others, even if they're different, and how important it is to understand how someone else might feel. Teachers could use this book to talk to students about being kind and treating everyone with respect, even if they're not the same as us. By reading "Wonder" together, students can learn about friendship and acceptance in a way that's easy to understand and relate to.
