I am making a desperate bid for points! I mailed two sets of books out last week, and inadvertantly crossed labels - so each moocher received the others' books. Now they will have to mail to each other, and I've gifted them all their points back to try to make amends. *casts remorseful looks*.

Tonight I posted some good fiction:
Veil of Roses - thank you!
The Cure for Death by Lightning thank you!
Devil's Teeth

Let's see.. what else do I have that is wonderful... *rummages in the closet*

Tamarind Mem thank you, DubaiReader!
Blue Italian
Little Indiscretions
The Dark Portal
Just Friends

What's that? You like something more obscure? Hang on... *rummages even deeper*

Ice Cold in Alex
Widow Smith of Spence's Bridge
The Russian Album gone!
Rhino Boy
Stately Homes, Castles and Gardens in Britain 1984 - thanks, Geophile!

Much more here (mainstream, kid stuff, etc.): http://bookmooch.com/m/inventory/starfishian

The Mill on the Floss -- George Eliot
Atlas Shrugged -- Ayn Rand Mooched

A Man for All Seasons was bought used, and has margin notes and some underlining in a few places. There is also a name on the first page and some minor doodling mostly on the back cover, but a little on the front.

The others are in good condition, and I will put more detailed notes on each one when I post them. They are all paperback editions.

If anyone on this thread wants one, send me a message, and I will reserve it for you when I post them on my inventory.

I've added a couple more books to the inventory this morning:

Aman: The Story of a Somali Girl by Virginia Lee Barnes: I had to read this for my Anthropology of Women course, and it's fascinating. It's basically a biography of Aman, a Somali girl who rebels against some aspects of her culture (Somalia is mostly Muslim) while explaining and embracing others. Somali culture is known for its poetry, and it's no wonder, she tells her story beautifully, beginning before she was born. Highly recommended.

The Women of Deh Koh by Erika Friedl: I read this for the same class. Although it is an anthropology book, it reads like a collection of short stories. Each chapter tells the story of a different woman in the village of Deh Koh in Iran, but their stories interweave as well. Worth reading and then re-reading, especially with the amount of press recently about the issues around women in the Middle East.

Crustaceans by Andrew Cowan: Another book that I've actually read, so I feel qualified recommending. This one I only recently reluctantly added to my inventory. It's a haunting, sad story that is told in that sort of dream-like narrative where you're not sure exactly what's happening when, but you get the emotions of it perfectly. This is about a father and his son... or the absence of his son.

The Impact of a Single Event by R.L. Prendergast: This one I haven't read, but it looks crazy. "A terrible car accident occurs. Richard and Sonia, a couple with a crumbling marriage, stop to help the critically injured victims. In the process, they find a 140-year-old journal by the side of the road. Six different people have written in the journal. Though the entries span three centuries, the writers share a quest: the search for meaning in their lives. These stories take Richard and Sonia on a personal and historic journey: across Canada to the jungles of India and back to the Canadian Rocky Mountains, where a final mystery awaits." It's all about this mysterious journal. Honestly, I don't know how to describe how bizarre it seems while flipping through it, and now that I'm adding it, I'm not sure if I want it to be mooched or if I want to read it myself. Oh well, I've got a couple copies through my store.

Awesome, two already mooched!

And they're all gone already! Wow!

My Bookmooch inventory is swelling right now thanks to my library's GIANT used book sale. Someone walked out with a stack of books by one of my favorite authors right when I walked in, so I felt I needed to buy a giant stack just to make myself feel better about waking up late and coming after the inventory was totally picked over.

My inventory is a pretty bizarre assortment. At any moment I usually have fantasy, supernatural romance, mystery, videogame strategy guides, manga, magazines, and some reference books left over from school.
I do magazines 2-for-1, and international mooches are 2-for-1 (because hey, you're spending 2 points anyway, right?).

http://bookmooch.com/m/inventory/murdererdelacroix

Just added And then there Were None, In the Eye of Heaven, and Riverwind the Plainsman Today. Er, yesterday. It's after midnight.

Well, I've got two books that I picked up off the donated book sale table at the library. I thought that they were fantasy, but when I checked them more carefully at home, I see that they are historical vampire horror novels.

I'm not into vampires much -- perhaps someone out there is:
Both books are by Les Daniels
Citizen Vampire
"The French Revolution is raging. Dr. Guillotin's invention is working full-time and the streets of Paris are awash with the blood of royalty.
Into this dark chaos Don Sebastian de Villanueya is summoned. The vampire, horrified by man's inhumanity, has seen the human bonfires of the Inquisition. He has seen the human sacrifices of the Aztecs. But he has seen nothing to match this..."

The Silver Skull
"Into the fabulous realm of sixteenth-century Mexico comes Alfonso Martinez, a Spanish alchemist searching for the legendary Aztec gold. With him is the silver skull of Don Sebastian de Villanueva -- wizard, vampire, explorer of earth's dark mysteries.
Then the skull falls into the hands of a priestess, the sensuous leader of an Aztec cult..."

Hopefully, someone out there will want them.
